Online system to make lunch payment easier at Medford High School

Medford —

A new automated program will make it easier for Medford parents to pay online for their high schooler’s lunch.

The district recently signed a contract with Nutrikids to automate the school lunch process at Medford High School. The new system will allow parents to deposit lunch money online into their students’ accounts.

The school system evaluated bids from other companies, including Horizon and Meal Magic, but chose the lowest bidder, Nutrikids, at a cost of $20,300.

Medford Public Schools Director of Finance and Administration Ann B. Giombetti said the price tag includes the necessary equipment to get the system ready.

“This not only includes the system software, but also includes cash registers, hardware and training necessary to get up and running,” said Giombetti, of the expenditure.
